It’s A First View for Children from Himachal

International Children’s Film Festival
A team of delegates from Himachal Pradesh led by Sanjeev Aatre visited the 18th International Children’s Film Festival India. Sanjeev was escorted by 4 children who are here for the first time to watch a film on a big screen.

Sanjeev, a lecturer in education department of Himachal Pradesh has made sixteen children films and have won various awards for the same. “I have been attending International Children’s Film Festival India from the year 1995.

I have had my first screening in ICFFI 1995,” said Sanjeev. The international film festival has been an inspiration for Sanjeev which motivated him to organize a film festival in Himachal Pradesh. “In 1997, with the help of Children’s Film Society of India (CFSI), I was successful in conducting the similar film festival in Himachal.

“We are from the far-flung villages in Himachal. We feel blessed to have got the opportunity of watching a children’s film,” said Ayushi, one of the child escorts.

“The quality of the children’s film festival is going high with every season. If CFSI permits, I will try bringing more children from the next season,” added Sanjeev.
