Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna has advocated banning polythene carry bags  and 4 others were injured in Pithoragarh District the Monday  night. In his condolence message, Mr. Bahuguna has prayed for the peace of the  departed soul and strength for the bereaved family members. He has also wished  for the early recovery of injured persons.
According to the State Emergency Operations  Centre, a Jeep (UA-05/ 3980) with 9 persons including the driver was heading  towards Balatadi from Vadade on Monday. As the jeep reached near Jhulaghat it  fell into a deep gorge about 9.30 pm killing 4 persons and injuring 4 others.  One of the passengers is safe. The injured were rushed to Pithoragarh District   Hospital. The deceased  persons had been identified as Gopal Chandra, Deewan Chandra, Rajendra Chandra  and Mohan Chandra. The Injured included Bhim Chandra, Ganesh Chandra, Rajendra  Chandra and Praveen Kumar.
