To check the corruption Vigilance Cells were being constituted in every department:Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna

Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna directing the officers to personally visit villages to inspect the development works said that any one found engaged in corrupt practices would not be spared. He said that to check the corruption Vigilance Cells were being constituted in every department.
Chief Minister while presiding over the review meeting of development works in Gopeshwar on Wednesday asked the officers to personally listen to the public grievances and redress them. He also directed them to expedite development projects underway. Mr. Bahuguna stating that a Border Development Fund had been set up under District Plan for the development of border districts and backward areas, instructed the officers to speed up the works by take special interest in them. He said that looking into the shortage of officers and the resources alternate arrangements would be made to complete the works.
Garhwal MP Satpal Maharaj said that the Panchayats were being developed which would subsequently help in speeding up the development process. He advocated developing other tourist potential places besides Char Dham. Describing closure of Pipalkoti-Vishnugarh Hydro-power Project an unfortunate incident, Maharaj urged the Chief Minister to pursue the Central Government to restart the stalled hydro-projects in the state. He said that as far as Rishikesh-Karnprayag Railway Line was concerned approval has been given for the construction of Sirobgarh Tunnel.
The Officers of Peyjal Department informed the Chief Minister that target had been set to benefit 92 villages. The Power Department Officers revealed that 51 villages were yet to be connected to Electricity lines, while, Officers of Health Department disclosed that not a single Physician was available at Gopeshwar.
Earlier, Tharali MLA Jeet Ram apprising the Chief Minister about Nanda Rajjat Yatra which was due in 2013 revealed that the roads were in pathetic condition. He said that the condition was so bad that in several places people had to cover 50 km distance on foot.  He also placed several demands before the Chief Minister relating to his constituency.  Karnprayag MLA Anusuiya Prasad Maikhuri apprised the Chief Minister about water problem existing in the district and said the Herbal Plants Research Institute was defunct. He demanded for border allowance to the government employees so that they do not hesitate to serve in the border areas. Badrinath MLA Rajendra Bhandari, Zila Panchayat Chairperson Vijaya Rawat Gopeshwar Nagar Palika Chairman Prem Ballabh Bhatt also apprised the CM about several problems existing in their respective areas.
Also present on the occasion were District Magistrate SA Murugeshan, SP P Renuka, ADM Harish Kandpal and other departmental officers.
